Riccardo Quaranta holds a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, achieved in 2009. In 2010 he successfully completed with honours the postgraduate title in Protection against CBRNe events from the same university. Since then, he has been working in research activities in the field of CBRNe safety and security and prevention against terrorist attacks at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Rome Tor Vergata and participated in several EU funded projects in the field of CBRNe prevention, protection, and training. He is a member of the Directive board of the International Master course in “Protection against CBRNe events” of the University of Rome Tor Vergata and has participated in the organization of several conferences and workshops, such as SICC 2017 and SICC 2020. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the “CBRNe Book Series” edited by Aracne Editor. He co-authored several scientific papers published on Italian and international journals and presented his work at international conferences. He has extensive international experience as he studied in Finland and worked in Australia and Thailand. Riccardo is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Rome Tor Vergata with a research project on the mapping of environmental radioactivity in Italy.
